"For me to drop everything for that, that's not going to happen. I have realistic expectations," Larry Wheels talks about his plans for the future

Although Larry Wheels is one of the strength athletes who have incredible strength feats, at the same time, this hulking man has a muscular physique that he could easily present on a bodybuilding competition board. However, Wheels may well be aware of this fact, which is why he has already decided to show up once at a bodybuilding show in the open division. Larry competed at the NPC Gold Coast Muscle Classic amateur competition in California, where he placed first on February 3, 2018!

So, even though Wheels had already been on the competition boards once, he decided to come up with the information that he would like to try competing in the Classic Physique division. And it was at this year's amateur Olympia, which was part of Olympia Weekend 2023, that Larry took the podium to showcase his great form. The judges found that he deserved second place, and Larry left this prestigious competition with a silver medal!

And it was in a recent video that Larry talked about the Classic Physique division and elaborated on his plans for bodybuilding

"If you want to do multiple sports, you have to accept that you're not going to be the best at any one of them. Because whoever is dedicated to that one discipline, that one sport, that one goal, will beat you every time. It's just a healthier aesthetic. And I'm like, hmm, that really aligns with my goals, because I'm all about health and longevity now.

You want to win Mr. Olympia... and also get the world record in powerlifting? Well, you can't do both, can you? You have to focus on one goal. I'm not gonna be the next Mr. Olympia. If I wanted to do that, and maybe I could do that, I should have decided that a long time ago. I'm not gonna give up everything for this, that's not gonna happen. I set realistic expectations and ask those who watch and listen to me to do the same. Right?"
