Cbum had a hair transplant!
Chris Bumstead knows how to make a big splash. And not only on the stage of the biggest bodybuilding events, where he collects one victory after another. With over 22.5 million followers on Instagram, the athlete has a huge reach. And it should be noted that he gives his subscribers more than enough conversation starters. The last time he shared details of a hair transplant he underwent, it caused quite a stir.
The athlete, who goes by the moniker Cbum on social media, posted a short video of him shaving his head at the popular Now Hair Time clinic in Turkey. Appearing with him in another photo was Iain Valliere, a bodybuilding veteran who ditched the competition swimsuit last year and who served as Chris's trainer in the early days before the legendary Hany Rambod took on the role.

Immediately, of course, there was speculation that athletes resorted to hair transplants because of excessive use of steroids, a side effect of which can be alopecia. While Vallier's procedure was understandable given his lack of further competitive ambitions, many fans were not sympathetic to Chris, arguing that a hair transplant made no sense the moment he resumed bodybuilding at the top level.
And so more speculation arose regarding the twilight of this currently one of bodybuilding's brightest stars. After health problems with a torn muscle, he has in fact announced that he and former Bikini Olympia participant Courtney King are expecting a baby. Given this situation and the other lucrative business ventures that the twenty-eight-year-old Canadian pro is involved in, it's quite possible that his competitive ambitions will be at least temporarily put on the back burner.
Although Cbum himself has not confirmed or denied anything of the sort, his behaviour makes it clear that taking care of his body and health is a priority for him. Last November, for example, he also underwent a stem cell injection into his kidneys as a precaution. In view of the aforementioned new addition to the family, it is quite possible that the now legendary five-time Classic Physique Olympia winner may indeed be retiring temporarily. The question remains, however, who will be able to replace him on the throne he has sat on since 2019.
