Brett Wilkin will not compete at Mr. Olympia 2023!

When American professional bodybuilder Brett Wilkin dominated the Bigman Weekend Pro competition at the end of last season, he made his dream come true and secured a direct entry into this year's Mr. Olympia competition.
It was towards this competition that he directed his almost year-long preparation.

However, as he informed yesterday via a short video, he will unfortunately not be participating in the competition.

"This will be one of the hardest videos I have ever had to make. It's taken me the last few days to get my act together and actually be able to talk about this decision.
I won't be competing at Mr. Olympia in four weeks!

My body hasn't been responding the way it should the last few days. I've had some health complications that I've gone through, which eventually led to me not being able to keep any food down. I was vomiting, nauseous, dizzy, and eventually diarrhea set in."

Although Brett tried to continue his training despite the aforementioned health complications, he ultimately made the decision he did. He was unable to offer his body the nutrients it required, which began to take a toll on his muscle loss.

He is now trying to ease his digestive tract, and continue in this vein for at least the rest of the year to make sure everything is back in order so he can take on bodybuilding with even more vigor next year.

This makes Brett the second qualified bodybuilder not to enter this year's Olympia. Over the past month, the same decision was made by Mamgouh "Big Ramy" Elssbiay, who feels he would not be competitive with the best this year, so he will focus on offering an improved version of himself next season.
