Bodybuilder Erik Markov died, he was 27 years old...

Sad news has hit the bodybuilding world. At only 27 years old, the promising IFBB professional bodybuilder Erik Markov has died. The cause of his sudden death has not yet been made public, as reported, for example, by generationiron.com.

The news of Markov's death shocked the entire fitness community. Many people who knew him expressed their condolences on social media. Among them was his partner Lucia Barahona.

"I am not able to comment right now. I still haven't come to terms with the situation that not only I am going through but also my family. Out of respect for him and his family, I will not disclose anything further. I am sorry," she wrote on her Instagram profile.

Erik Markov competed in the Classic Physique category and his career skyrocketed. This year he achieved huge success when he earned his IFBB professional card at the NPC Worldwide Amateur Olympia in Spain. This followed his previous triumph at the NPC Worldwide Top Tan Classic Regional. He also shared his joy with his fans online.

"I've achieved my dream: I got my pro card,"

he wrote in one of his latest posts. In it, he also thanked his partner Lucia, who is a personal trainer.

"You are my partner for life, my best friend, my quiet strength and my peace in the midst of chaos," he confessed to her.

The bodybuilder, who was born and lived in Spain, was known for his well-crafted physique and was considered one of the future fitness stars.

"Markov managed to turn his passion for fitness into a career. This year he has achieved the best possible form," generationiron.com reports.

His partner hopes that people will remember him in the best light.

"Thank you for all the messages of support and encouragement. I can't answer all of that right now because I have to deal with everything that has happened. Thank you and I hope he will always be remembered for the amazing person he is."

The death of Erik Markov is unfortunately another tragic event that has hit the bodybuilding community recently. Craig Licker, whose career spanned two decades, and fitness influencer Hayley McNeff also passed away recently. Even in her case, the cause of death is unknown.
