Arnold Schwarzenegger celebrated his 76th birthday!
Arnold Schwarzenegger, seven-time Mr. Olympia champion, actor and former California governor from 2003 to 2011, celebrated his 70th birthday yesterday! Once again, he's had an eventful year. In March, another edition of the North American Arnold Sports Festival was held with his personal participation, a festival he founded in 1989 together with Jim Lorimer. Two weeks later, the revived Arnold Classic UK professional show was also held.
Arnold recognizes what bodybuilding has brought him and loves to give back. He cares about making sure that today's athletes can make decent money. His two competitions, held under the banner of Jim Manion's IFBB professional league, were the third and fourth most generously funded events in professional bodybuilding this season. Bodybuilders will earn more only at Joe Weider's Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend and the Super Series Goldentimes Bodybuilding GP, which will be held in December under the banner of the PCA organization.

Although the prizes at Arnold's competitions are high, Schwarzenegger plans to increase them further to put pressure on other organizers, including those behind Olympia Weekend. So at this year's North American Arnold Classic, he announced that next year the winner of the men's open bodybuilding contest will earn half a million US dollars, which is not only 200,000 more than this year, but also 100,000 more than is awarded to the Mr. Olympia champion!
After the Arnold Classic UK, which was held in Birmingham, Arnold had to attend to his health due to a congenital heart defect. After several surgeries in which doctors replaced his worn heart valves, he developed an irregular heart rhythm that was very debilitating. On the advice of his doctors, he had a pacemaker implanted so that he would have enough time to recover before his other work duties.
At the end of April, filming was scheduled to begin on the second series of the action series FUBAR, the first season of which had achieved excellent ratings despite mediocre reviews. Filming is expected to run until the end of August, and post-production will take another few months, so the new episodes won't air until the second or third quarter of 2025 at the earliest. Even though Arnold no longer has the champion character of Mr. Olympia, or the cinematic Conan or Terminator, he still has many fans.
He keeps in touch with them on social media and through his email newsletter, Arnold's Pump Club, where he motivates his subscribers to take up the sport. On his birthday yesterday, we wish him to remain as active in the years to come, with robust health and plenty of drive. Happy birthday, Arnold!
