19-year-old Brazilian bodybuilding champion died at home of a heart attack!

Matheus Pavlak, a 19-year-old Brazilian bodybuilder, was found dead in his home in Brazil on September 3, 2024. According to early reports by the Daily Mail, he died of a heart attack. His death came five years after he fundamentally changed his physique through intense training and dedication to bodybuilding.

Matheus managed to transform himself from an obese young man to a respected bodybuilder in just a few years. The sport has become his refuge and lifelong passion. He competed regularly in his home state of Santa Catarina, where he managed to achieve significant success. Winning the U23 competition in his home town of Blumenau earned him the title of Mr. Blumenau, one of the highlights of his career.

Despite adversity, Pavlak managed to make a name for himself in other competitions. In May this year, he took fourth and sixth place at the regional competitions. His tragic passing came unexpectedly when he was found dead in his home on Sunday afternoon.

His former coach Lucas Chegatti, who was Pavlak's mentor in the early days of his career, is coping hard with his loss.

"He had a great future ahead of him as a respected athlete. God has his plans, but it's hard to understand, I don't have the words to explain the heaviness I feel in my heart,"

Chegatti said. He added that Pavlak was like his son and that he was supposed to be one of those who would one day surpass him - which happened when they first competed against each other.

Although he was no longer his coach, Chegatti expressed his condolences to Pavlak's family, adding:

"He was no longer part of my team, but I know I was able to mold a great athlete. May God comfort his family and take care of our boy."

Matheus Pavlak often shared his training efforts, physique and journey to a healthier lifestyle on social media. His transformation inspired countless fans who followed him and enjoyed his success on the bodybuilding stages.

After his death, speculation has arisen about the causes of his demise, with some believing that the use of performance enhancing drugs may have played a role. Steroids have been a controversial topic in bodybuilding for many years and have been linked to the deaths of many athletes. An example is the tragedy of Neil Currey, a prominent Classic Physique competitor whose parents also blame the use of performance enhancing substances for his death.

Matheus Pavlak will always be remembered as an inspirational young man who managed to break free from obesity and become a successful athlete. His untimely death is a reminder of how fragile life is and how dangerous the risks associated with the pursuit of the perfect physique can be.
