Fit Effect Loglift cup | Results and reportage

Log lift, the royal discipline of strongman sport, which has accompanied strongmen in greater or lesser modifications since the very beginning, i.e. the second half of the seventies. On April 1, 2023, the Log lift became the centre of Czech strongmen. It was on this day that the Fit Effect Loglift cup took place. Since the morning, strongmen of all ages and weights were coming to Kladno Fit Effect, but I must not forget about the representatives of the fairer sex who competed as well.

The team of enthusiasts around Lukáš Beran has been organizing their races under the hash tag #zvedejapomahej for only the third year, but right from the beginning they set the bar damn high, not only with perfect organization, but also with the idea and concept of their races. Whether it was the Movember Trapbar Cup or just the Loglift Cup, i.e. themed races, but they were always luxurious events where many others could take inspiration. That they are all enthusiastic and volunteer to do a super race while helping is seen at every turn, all proceeds from the event are then donated to help fight cancer.

Although I spoke to Lukas immediately after the race where he stressed to me several times that he was sorry for any mistakes in the organisation and minor downtime, I can put my hand on my heart there and it certainly wasn't the case, no mistakes were seen, nor did the competitors I discussed the whole thing with confirm any such thing, so Lukas, thank you all it was a great event where both competitors and spectators had a great time.

The precision and readiness of the competitions from Kladno was proved by all the big names of the Czech strongman scene. Apart from the former Czech record holder in log lift Jiri Vytiska, who is enjoying his strongman rest and who came to enjoy the event, there were others like Mari Zvrtek, a long-time competitor, the whole Brno gang led by Lukas Pepř, Ondrej Fojtů and Tomas Sikora, the incredibly strong and handsome Jarda Št'astný and many other names of the domestic scene.

Last year, the first year of the Loglift Cup brought new records, and this year, in addition to the domestic ones, the world ones were also broken. Actually, apart from a few minor flashes from some competitors, it was a great event full of cheering and monstrous performances. An amazing atmosphere, now leaving aside the record attempts which I will come back to, was enjoyed by all during the women's and masters categories. The cheering and support even across the field was fantastic. The girls squeezed every ounce of strength out of themselves that was even hypothetically possible, the masters guys on the other hand were terribly relaxed, yes they are masters, that is guys full of racing experience and you could see that even though they were competing they were mainly enjoying everything. After that the other categories were a regular fight for the top rungs and it was during those attempts where you knew you were going for the record that Fit Effect almost fell under deafening roars and cheers.

Ondra Fojtů dominated and set a new Czech log lift record of 206.1 kg. And considering Ondra's age, I think that the world record values will not be too far from him, even though 24 kg is a lot in this case, it is not impossible in his capabilities. I could say the same about Lukáš Pepř, who put 190 kg at this year's competition. I will add, Ondra Fojtů's record, if we take it from the point of view of junior performance is also a world record. Another Czech record holder is Jarda Št'astný, who used to crash a lot in his original U105 category, but lately he has been competing regularly among Czech pros. Jarda managed a massive 170,9 kg.

I can only say that the Czech strongman season has started and that I will look forward to the next competitions, especially those held by the guys from Kladno.
