Fiji Pro 2018 - results

Just one week after the New Zealand Pro, another professional bodybuilding competition took place in Oceania. On Saturday, March 31, it welcomed the Fiji Islands, officially the Republic of the Fiji Islands, located about 1,800 km from New Zealand.

The promoter of the contest, as is the case with the New Zealand Pro, was former pro Moe Elmoussawi. Again, representatives from the under 212lb division were given the opportunity. And not to be outdone by the New Zealand Pro connections, there was an almost identical starting field! Only Babak Akbarnia and Haitham Al Zadjali were missing.

The latter wasn't entirely absent, however, as he entered the Classic Bodybuilding category, which he ended up dominating.

Considering the above, it was already obvious that the trio of Jafar Ghaffar Nezhad, Sami Al Haddad and Samir Troudi, the first, second and third men of the already mentioned New Zealand Pro, would fight for the top positions here as well.

This was confirmed by the first semi-final comparison, in which this trio was compared at the request of the judges.

The winner, just like the week before, was Jafar Ghaffar Nezhad. He scored his second start and second win among the elite, a very successful entry into the professional division.

Second place, as in New Zealand, went to the highly experienced Sami al Haddad.

Third then, again as in the New Zealand Pro, was Samir Troudi.

Fourth place was taken by Fahad Zaid, who improved by two places compared to his performance in New Zealand with the absence of the pair of Babak Akbarnia and Haitham Al Zadjali.
According to coach Abdulhameed Dashtin, Zaid was almost 5 kilograms heavier and therefore more powerful, and he felt he had the ability to place even better.
However, one could not shake off the impression that the judges were just copying the placings from New Zealand, and the actual forms of the individual competitors left them cold.

Fifth, sixth and seventh places were shared by the remaining competitors, Morteza Oveisi, Hyunjin Kim and Grant Pieterse
