"Don't be afraid to go after what you want." Shaun Clarida showed his progression over 16 years of training!

Shaun Clarida is one of the smallest professional bodybuilders of today at 157 centimetres tall. However, he is proof that height is not always the deciding factor. After all, it is he who in 2020 became the winner of the most prestigious competition of the division up to 212 pounds, the Olympia 212 Showdown!

Back then, he was mainly known by the nickname "The Pocket Bodybuilder", which he wasn't exactly happy with, as he wanted to go by the moniker "The Giant Killer".

He finally achieved that when he dominated the Legion Sports Fest Pro 2021 event last season, leaving behind such fighters as Sergio Oliva Jr., Regan Grimes, Max Charles, Cedric McMillan and Patrick Moore!

Shaun has been practicing for many years and has enough experience to be an idol or mentor to many. Especially the latter role, he is very happy to take on, and so we can read some motivational speech on his Instagram every now and then.

He shared one of these with his fans today, with a photo comparing his progress over 16 years of training, between 2005 and 2021.

He accompanied that picture with the words:

Don't be afraid to go after what you want. Just know that it won't be an easy Journey. There will be plenty of people along the way who will laugh and tell you that you can't do it, that you're not good enough. In truth, not everyone wants to see you succeed, but that's okay. Because this will only make you stronger and more determined to not only prove them wrong, but even more determined to prove you right!

Many of you may say that putting on some 27 kilos of muscle in 16 years is no mean feat, but considering Clarid's height, it's quite a feat, especially for him.

Shaun, as well as the other qualified athletes, are currently less than 9 weeks away from competing at this year's Olympia. He is one of the hottest candidates for victory!
