Dexter Jackson will retire at Mr. Olympia 2020!
Mr. Olympia 2020 will be my last competition!
This phrase, spoken today by the 2008 Mr. Olympia title holder and the most successful professional bodybuilder in the world, Dexter Jackson, is making the rounds!

In bodybuilding circles, they call him the 8 Wonder of the World. His 29 professional wins are a world record. His 9 Arnold Classic wins(Arnold Classic - 2005, 2006, 2008, 2013 and 2015, Arnold Classic Australia - 2015, Arnold Classic Africa - 2015 and 2016, Arnold Classic Europe - 2015) are also a record, as are his 20 starts on the Mr. Olympia stage!
Even at the age of 50, Dexter Jackson remains one of the best bodybuilders on the planet, but all good things must come to an end.
12 years after winning the Mr. Olympia title in 2008, Dexter will compete for the Mr. Olympia title again in 2020, but this time it will be for the last time!
Dexter himself makes this decision:
I thought long and hard about how I wanted to end my career.
I am still capable of winning any show I enter, and in September I will give myself one last chance to capture my second Sandow statue.
Olympia is the best bodybuilding competition, and I want my last sit-down to be on stage in Vegas against the best bodybuilders in the world!
He goes on to say:
Mr. Olympia 2020 will be my last competition, so I hope all the people who support me will be here with me. It's going to be special!
Chief Olympia Officer Dan Solomon adds:
Dexter Jackson is one of the most remarkable athletes of our generation. The opportunity to witness his final competition will be very emotional for all of us! We plan to make it special for him!
