Dallas McCarver has his own memorial
On August 22nd, it will be exactly one year since the news of the death of the young, only 26-year-old professional bodybuilder Dallas McCarver hit the bodybuilding world.
Likeable, always smiling and very popular, Dallas had a huge potential to become one of the best bodybuilders on the planet. Unfortunately, his pursuit of bulk, which was coupled with high doses of anabolic steroids, kept him alive!
Although choking on food was given as the initial cause of his death, the medical report was quite clear - Dallas' organs, i.e. heart, lungs, kidneys and liver, were abnormally enlarged compared to normal, plus he had a malignant thyroid tumor.
Also, his testosterone levels were out of the normal range, and unbelievable - some sources say he was taking up to 10 grams a week!
But that, at this point, doesn't matter anyway, and nothing will bring him back to life.
The Dragon's Lair gym in Florida, which was Dallas' second home, decided to honor his memory with a memorial. It was unveiled on Saturday, August 11 by six-time Olympia 212 Showdown champion James "Flex" Lewis, for whom the gym is also home.
Dallas' mother and girlfriend were present for the unveiling.
