Czechoslovak team won the World Strongest Nation u105kg competition!
Although many of us had a quiet Saturday yesterday, the Czechoslovak team consisting of Jiri Tkadlcik (captain), Vojtech Kučera, Patrik Zelezka and Benjamin Machala took part in the World Strongest Nation u105kg competition, which was a competition in the manner of the European Team Championships u105, which took place on 22 October in Landshut, Germany.

Our team faced seven competing teams from other countries in seven events to see who would become the strongest nation in Europe. According to the words of Jirka Tkadlcik, the toughest fight was against the team from Ukraine, which usually dominates this competition and it is very difficult to beat the Ukrainians.
The boys competed in the first discipline in the truck pulling on the rope, which they did not do very well. Our team finished in fifth place. However, our boys dominated the second discipline, the push medley (Loglift 125kg / Axle 125kg / Giant Dumbbell 80kg) and came first!
In the third discipline our strongmen dominated again, managing to cover the longest distance in three minutes with 140kg trunks. The third place was won by Jirka Tkadlcik's team in the fourth discipline, in which the task was to lift a heavy barrel above the head. However, Jirka did not participate in this discipline because he injured his biceps, so the boys had to do without their captain this time.
In the fifth discipline, however, the strongmen had to compare themselves in deadlifts, which are a daily cup of coffee for Tkadlcik. So he decided to help his team with his injured biceps and took part in the deadlifts.
"Deadlift 8x 290kg with absolutely tight arms. What was left when I tore my biceps and couldn't bend my arm, but of course I wanted to do the deadlift. Luckily it was really just a muscle that took it, and compression helped, so it'll just be a superficial bobble, no torn tendons or rolled biceps," Jirka wrote on his Instagram
In the sixth discipline (running medley) the boys finished in fourth place. After adding up the intermediate results, our team knew that they were only half a point behind before the last discipline and if they thought of winning gold, they had to dominate and win this discipline, which they did and the boys dominated the competition!
The captain of the team, Jirka Tkadlcik, said that he would like to praise his teammates who gave great performances. Congratulations to the boys and below you can see some photos from the competition.
