Crossfit top athletes came to České Budějovice for Bcross Challenge - Winter Classic Vol.2!

Crossfit season ended in BcrossGYM in České Budějovice. Where traditionally there were Christmas competitions for pairs.
In the sport category there were pairs of mixed girl, boy and in the elite category only two boys.

A total of 60 teams were registered for the race. The capacity was filled in less than 20 minutes from the start of registration.
This is the fourth year we have been organizing the race and we are happy to see that we are gaining popularity and trust among the competitors and fans, and the competitors are happy to come back.

We have organised a total of 13 races in 4 years.

All these disciplines were prepared for you by Petr Schlegel, who is cooperating with us for the third race in a row this year. We are happy to have people who have experience from foreign races and who are actively racing.

It all started in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with competitors arriving for their first workout well in advance to get a feel for the other teams and their strategies. Which was important as teamwork is key in this race.

We were very pleased with the elite cast of competitors.

We had the best of the Czech and Slovak CF scene and it was really something to watch. It is a great motivation for all beginners and advanced trainees. At the same time a great show for the fans and performances that most people cannot imagine.

It was a festive day for the crossfit fan !

In this video you will see a montage of the elite teams that fought for the Winter Classic trophy. Last year it was won by Ondra Pokorný and Petr Špáček from Prague, who had to postpone their defence due to injury.

The biggest stir among the competitors was workout 3, which was divided into two results.

Not very well known and very challenging devil presses - English one-handed press and overhead one-handed push-up. Combined with a row where each exercise was scored separately.

The workouts were finished with synchronized routines where gymnastic exercises such as rope climb, pull-ups and toe to trapeze were predominant. It was finished off with overhead KB lunges and, for the elite category, the pistol or single leg squat with a 20kg weight.

The competition day ran smoothly as scheduled and the results were announced on time. A big advantage of these indoor competitions was the facilities at BcrossGym. Where there was plenty of room for a warm up area, relaxation area, compex corner and a stand of delicious snacks from Donut with you.

SPORT category!

This category really goes up every race. Not only are the competitors moving forward but also the level and difficulty of the workouts. There was a great field of 40 teams at the Winter Classic.
Where from last year team Bobšové (Maruška Ostrá, Josef Ludačka) unfortunately did not defend their first place and finished in 7th place. Also unluckily in 4th place finished our regular participant team Firefighter, who sovereignly won the last workout.

The second and third place went to teams Růžena and TWBG. In this case, the greater number of first places from all WODs is decisive for us. TWBG did better and won 3 out of 5 workouts so they really deserved second place. If they had even had a better result in wods 3A and cheered more calories, they could have even won the whole competition as they finished 22nd there.

So the third place also went to our traditional team of Rosena.

A team from Tabor called Prďoši sailed through the race with ease and were well prepared. They took individually these places 6, 4, 3, 5, 11. These races are all about being as versatile as possible and they did that this time and take the first place deservedly.

ELITE!

As we wrote above, we are really happy that this category is filling up and we have some big names on the start list. It's great promotion for what we all do and love. That's what we're all about, getting the sport out to as many people as possible. Our stats speak for that and the 13 races we have held with an annual outdoor two-day summer highlight!

It was a great battle for first place from the very beginning.
The last heat was very close with all 6 teams nipping at each other's heels. The Karasses and Vegan Brothers came out on top after two workouts. The other four teams fought for third place until the last workout. ( MadBros, Ultimate ReDrink, Wild Eggs and CF Hradec Králové.)

Everything was decided in the last event.
Synchronous 30x CH2B (chest pulls), 25x TTB - toes to trap and 20 pistols - single leg squat with 20kg. They had to confirm each exercise with two rope climbs, without using their legs - legless rope climb.

Team Karasci finished first and thus could enjoy the overall victory.

In the end, the Vegan Brothers team finished second. Just ahead of the MadBross team was the Ultimate ReDrink team from Olomouc in 3rd place.

Only by one point in 5th place Wild eggs - Starosta, Loužecký and in 6th place also only by 1 point CF Hradec Králové - Lisý, Mećava.

In 2018, we held 4 races with only 2 months between them, and 4 months apart for the last race. It was challenging but well worth it!
65 - people comprised the organizing team of helpers and judges
