New York Pro 2024 prejudging - how are Josef Květoň and Milan Šádek doing?

The bodybuilding season is in full swing and in the plethora of competitions we've already been through this year, there have been a number that have offered a first class spectacle. However, the New York PRO is one of the imaginary highlights of the season as it is a race that is run to a high standard every year. This year, however, it is these races that a number of great competitors have announced their participation in, led by Mr. Olympia bronze medalist Nick Walker. How did he do? We bring you a report from the prejudging, which takes place at the Teaneck Marriott throughout May 18 and hosts all divisions except for fitness and wheelchair bodybuilding.

Prejudging categories open

The Open category was the highlight of the day in terms of the schedule, and although we won't be bringing you any information about it until the evening due to the time delay, it's roughly 3pm in New York right now and the competitors are currently prejudging, which of course tells you a lot about the final placement of the competitors. It is also important for Czech fans to note that Milan Šádek and Josef Květoň are also among the twenty elite athletes - we wrote about this in a separate news item. The main judge Tyler Manion finally grouped the athletes, who by the way showed great form, into the following selections:

Course of the race

As expected, the competitors at the New York PRO 2024 presented themselves in great shape and it must be noted that the judges had no easy choice. However, Nick Walker stood out from the beginning in the large starting field, who was really well prepared and announced his return to the competition podium long in advance. But nothing is certain, because Martin Fitzwater, who looks like he could also attack the victory, showed massive volumes combined with almost flawless sculpting. Judging by the first and final call-ups, Tonio Burton and Stuart Sutherland are also expected to make an impact, but so far it looks like the latter two are more likely to duke it out between them for third place.

The Czech fan's eye was also pleased to see a well-prepared Pepa Květoň, who can be said without exaggeration that he is aiming for the world's elite. He certainly did not lose his way in the second round and although he will probably not appear on the top positions, he showed great form and made it known that he is certainly to be counted on in the future. Milan was only the third callout, but still this racer showed himself in a great light.
