Mr. Olympia 2025: Date and venue revealed, record prizes await!
Olympia President Dan Solomon has big plans for bodybuilding fans. On February 6, 2025, he confirmed that Mr. Olympia 2025 will return to Las Vegas, Nevada, at Resorts World, where the event will take place from October 9-12. He also hinted that contestants will be awarded "by far the highest prize money".
And we also know the date of the biggest Czech bodybuilding event - EVLS Prague PRO 2025, which will take place on October 25! What does this mean for Czech fans? EVLS takes place just 14 days after Mr. Olympia, which is no problem for the competitors to maintain their top form. Thanks to this, there is a high probability that even more world bodybuilding stars will be present in Prague!
Mr. Olympia 2024 was a historic event during which the organization awarded nearly $2 million to participants. In the main Men's Open category, Samson Dauda achieved the biggest win of his career and became the 19th athlete to lift the Sandow trophy over his head. Olympia owner, Jake Wood, shocked the bodybuilding world when he presented Dauda with a check worth $600,000 - the largest cash prize ever won by an IFBB Pro.
The date, venue and location are all fixed, which prompted Dan Solomon to provide insight into what the Olympia brand has planned for athletes, sponsors and fans ahead of this huge event.
"We're going back to Resorts World. It's a great home for Olympia. Many people who attended the event enjoyed the environment on a whole different level. What Resorts World has done is we've essentially built an entire pavilion, attached it to the venue and created a substantial part of the Olympia experience within it."
He also promised "by far the highest prize money" for the event.
"You come to Olympia and see the best athletes in the world compete. By far the highest prize money will take place on this stage. You'll see an amazing exhibition, but you'll also see new technologies, innovations and other aspects of the overall commitment to longevity, fitness and a healthy lifestyle."
In addition, Solomon discussed criticisms about the event's organization and stressed the importance of steady growth from year to year.
"We really try to listen to feedback. But there's a lot of hypocrisy around us. Some of the same people who talk about the importance of growing the event and bringing in more money are also criticizing our actions and suggesting things that actually make the event smaller."
"The financial success of the event is what allows us to grow. It's what allowed us to award nearly $2 million in prize money at Olympia."
He admits that moving the preliminary judging for the Men's Open to an earlier hour on Friday affected audience interest in the divisions that followed.
"The pressure was on us to move [the preliminary judging in the Men's Open category] to earlier in the evening, which we did. And everything went fine. Maybe we'll do it again, maybe we won't. But I will tell you this: when the preliminary judging in the Men's Open category ended on Friday night, for the two subsequent divisions, a third of the building emptied," Dan Solomon said.
As the most acclaimed fitness and bodybuilding show of the season, fans are still wondering how Olympia will push the bar even higher. Earlier, Jake Wood expressed interest in one day holding the competition in Las Vegas at the Sphere facility. Although it hasn't come to fruition yet, it would certainly make for an unforgettable experience, but still, don't miss the Mr. Olympia 2025 contest, which will take place October 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada! A total of 11 IFBB Pro League divisions will battle it out for the title and unprecedented prize money! And we'll be covering it for you like we do every year.
