Japan Pro 2025: Shaun Clarida shocked in Open category, Jan Turek took fantastic 4th place!

Tokyo (or Chiba), Japan, was the venue of the prestigious Japan Pro 2025 competition over the weekend. The eyes of the bodybuilding world were focused on the Open category, where "Giant Killer" Shaun Clarida made a sensation. However, for Czech fans, the news of Jan Turek's great placing is equally important.

The competition, which served as a qualifier for Mr. Olympia 2026, brought exciting fights in five divisions. But it was the Men's Open Bodybuilding category that clearly drew the most attention.

The sensation Shaun Clarida

Shaun Clarida, the two-time champion of the 212-pound division, proved once again that muscle is not counted in inches, but in quality. Clarida decided to enter the "heavyweights" in the Open division and the risk paid off. Weighing significantly less than his opponents, but with brutal preparation, fullness and symmetry, he was able to defeat much bigger fighters.

With this win, Clarida secured direct qualification for Mr. Olympia 2026 in the Open category. After the competition, he confirmed that his goal is to stand on the Olympia podium in this category and measure his strength against the biggest monsters in the world.

Jan Turek in Top 5!

A fantastic result was achieved by Czech professional Jan Turek. In a packed competition full of stars, he took a great 4th place. Turek was in great form, with massive volume and hardness that earned him the valuable scalps of many well-known names, including British heavyweight Marc Hector and James Hollingshead. For Czech bodybuilding, this is further proof that our athletes are among the world's top.

Japan Pro 2025 will go down in history as the event where David defeated Goliath again. Shaun Clarida's victory is a huge inspiration and a demonstration that in bodybuilding it's complexity that matters, not just gross weight. For us, however, the competition is above all a confirmation of the qualities of Jan Turek, who is certainly not lost in elite company.
