Italian Olympus Pro 2023: Pavel Červinka takes 15th place, Theo Leguerrier dominates the competition! Results and report

Sunday, October 8th, was a key day in the IFBB Professional League for the competitors who were still trying to qualify for this year's Olympia Weekend under the supervision of Jim Manion. Throughout the weekend they had a choice of six competitions, including the Italian Olympus Pro, which was held in Milan and welcomed athletes competing in men's open bodybuilding, men's physique and women's bikini fitness. We were interested to see what results were achieved here.

Men's open bodybuilding

In the men's open bodybuilding category, fifteen competitors joined the battle for victory, thanks also to the new German professional Matthias Hollweck, who earned his card to the professional world at Olympia Amateur Italy. Already during Hollweck's individual semi-final presentation it was clear that he had something to offer - not only with his form, but also with his great posing. Even though he was a bit more subtle than his opponents, it seemed that he would definitely not be lost at the Italian Olympus Pro. In the end, he was selected for the first semifinal callout, an important moment for bodybuilding competitors. In this important moment he was accompanied by Tim Budesheim, Alfred Chiriac, Roman Fritz, Theo Leguerrier and Leandro Peres.

Roman and Theo were in prominent positions in the middle of the line and the battle between them was exciting. Theo was fuller and handled the lateral chest pose better, while Fritz offered more powerful quadriceps and an excellent physique. Tim and Alfred were deciding the last spot in the top 5 - Tim was massive and perfectly poised, while Alfred was more graceful, though not as massive. Matthias Hollweck, making his professional debut, battled with Leander Peres for the last available spot in the top 5. Czech bodybuilding fans watched anxiously to see when Pavel Cervinka would appear on the scene. However, event emcee Billy Garnon called him up to the third callout, which indicated that he would not place in the top 10.

The semi-finals were the highlight of the Italian Olympus Pro, with only the best competing in the finals, including Matthias Hollweck, who ousted the more experienced Peres. There was also the traditional sit-down that spectators have come to expect. This was followed by the announcement of the results, presented by the host Billy Garnon. Matthias Hollweck took fifth place, and although he showed his potential, it is obvious that he could get stronger and achieve a better result in the future. Fourth place went to Alfred Chirac, who improved significantly, although he may have lost some of the quality he had previously. Third place went to Tim Budesheim, who confirmed his excellent form. Roman Fritz finished second and Theo Leguerrier was the winner of the Italian Olympus Pro 2023, earning him one last chance to participate in this year's Olympia. It has to be said that Theo is showing his best form so far this year, with a marked improvement in detail and separation. Pavel Cervinka took the last place, 15th.
