EVLS Prague Pro 2022 - results and report
The time until Mr. Olympia is inexorably running out and the pros have only a few last chances to qualify for this prestigious competition in Vegas. And maybe that's why the upcoming EVLS, which takes place on 29 October in the exclusive premises of the Prague Hilton hotel, will bring together the very top of the domestic bodybuilding scene, which is complemented by a number of famous foreign names in six different categories.
Predictions and highlights from the start lists
Although we have already published the list of competitors and the programme a few days ago, it is worth highlighting the most important points just to set the atmosphere of the competition. In total, there will be nine Czech competitors at EVLS, from whom we can expect really great form. The pre-competition eyes of the experts will see Pavel Beran reappear after his surgery, this time under the guidance of professional George Farah. But the usually well-prepared handsome man will not have it easy at all, because in his way to victory will stand Milan Šádek, Honza Turek or Slovak giant Michal Križánek, who is undoubtedly hoping for a qualifying ticket to Mr. Olympia.
Slovak pro Tomáš Tabačiar, whose injury interrupted his otherwise very impressive progress, has also had knee surgery. He will be competing in the under 212lb category, where he will also be the only Czechoslovak competitor. The Czech trio of Sebastian Gunčík, Patrik Herčzík and Jakub Kolínek will be in the classic physique category, along with Slovak competitor Andrej Varga and a number of foreign competitors. In the men's physique, both Miroslav Přibáň and Filip Šteflovič will represent the Czech Republic, while the bikini and wellness categories will unfortunately remain without Czech representation.

What interesting things did the semi-final bring?
As die-hard bodybuilding fans probably know, the semi-finals are where the bread starts to break and the way the athletes are called up largely determines their final ranking.
Women's Wellness
As for the Women's Wellness category, which started the whole event, 6 athletes made it to the first callout, with Mariela Carvalho and Danai Theodoropoulou occupying the most prestigious positions in the middle and most likely to fight it out between them for the win.
Men's Physique
The men's physique category, featuring Miroslav Juricek amongst others, looks like a really tight battle that could see the top 5 competitors battle it out. In the first call-up he was joined by Furkan Er, Mohamed Magdy, Davide Mazzolari, Andrea Mosti and Abisai Peters, and so far it looks like a tight battle between the Er-Magdy-Peters trio on the podium.
Bodybuilding up to 212 pounds
In bodybuilding up to 212 pounds, normally one of the crowd's favourite categories, it looks like an attractive Slovakian-Hungarian duel between Peter Molnar and Tomas Tabachiar. These two fighters met each other in the first heat, where they were joined by Dawid Cnota, but in the fifth heat the judges put only the first two next to each other and it looks like they will be the ones competing for the first place and qualification for the prestigious Olympia.

Bodybuilding men open
The royal category, which is usually the one with the most fans' eyes on it, showed that it will be really worth it in the finals. The eyes of the spectators were attracted by the Slovak giant Michal Križánek, who compensated well for his not quite finished readiness with his volumes. As far as the quality of preparation is concerned, Milan Šádek or Honza Turek may have the upper hand, but in terms of volume they are obviously losing to the Slovak giant. Let's see how it all turns out. Pavel Beran together with Pavel Cervinka appeared in the second call-up.
Men´s Physique
In the men's physique category, where among others Miroslav Juricek appeared, it looks like a really intense fight, which could be among the top 5 competitors. In the first call-up he was joined by Furkan Er, Mohamed Magdy, Davide Mazzolari, Andrea Mosti and Abisai Peters, while the podium looks like a tight battle between the Er-Magdy-Peters trio.
Classic physique
The classic physique category has 3 Czech representatives, of which Patrik Herčzík did the best in the semi-final, who will probably fight for the victory and the associated qualification for the December Mr. Olympia in Vegas. However, in his way stands the well-prepared Kelvin Hinde, who will probably not give him anything for free. So we can look forward to a very interesting fight here as well.
Women's Bikini Fitness
Bikini fitness has no Czech or Slovak representative, but still offered a very interesting and quite attractive duel for the audience, where the Russian Valerya Fedorenko is probably heading for the victory, followed by Tatiana Lanovenko, Zsofia Molnar and Eszter Oczella.
The final
Wellness
The Wellness category kicked off the finals, the course of which was to some extent predicted by the semi-final call-ups. In the evenly matched duel between Mariela Carvalho and Danai Theodoropoulou, who shared the most prestigious middle positions in the semi-finals in the first evocation, there were very few differences and it was a very interesting duel from which the Brazilian competitor came out victorious in the end. She will take away the qualification for Mr. Olympia and also the prize money of $2,000. Since this category has only been competing at Olympia since 2021, Mariela Carvalho will get the opportunity to become one of the first winners of the prestigious competition. She was then joined in second place by Danai Theodoropoulou representing Australia and third place was taken by Spanish competitor Maria Paulette. The fourth place was taken by the Polish competitor Anna Mroczkowska and the top five wellness competitors were rounded off by another Brazilian competitor, Aline Machado Galvao Freitas.

Men´s Classic Physique
Men's Classic Physique was the first category that had representatives from the Czech competitors. And it turned out to be very successful right away, because during his first ever professional competition Patrik Herčzik managed to win and qualified for this year's Mr. Olympia in this category. As we announced after the semi-final rounds, second place went to Patrick's semi-final competitor Kelvin Hinde. And not to make things worse for our Czech bodybuilding community, the third place belonged to Sebastian Grunčík and Jakub Kolínek finished just behind the top five. Out of the eleven athletes on the start list, all three Czechs made it to the top six, which can be described as great results without exaggeration. The boys showed great preparedness and aesthetically they definitely impressed both the judges and the spectators by putting on a great show.

Bikini Fitness
If you got to our above report from the semi-final competitions, you will not be surprised by the result of the women's bikini fitness category, which was won by the well-prepared Russian competitor Valerya Fedorenko. The fact that the female competitors were in really great form is also evidenced by the fact that the Italian competitor Ottavia Mazza, who has already qualified for Olympia from last year's Tsunami Cup, finished in 6th place in this busy category. Fifth place went to the Russian competitor Tatiana Lanovenko, while fourth place belonged to the already Olympia-qualified Frenchwoman Allison Testu, who won last year's EVLS Prague PRO. The third place was taken by Hungarian competitor Eszter Oczella, who still has a chance to fight for an additional qualification for Mr. Olympia.

Men's physique
The men's physique category also offered a great spectacle, in which the cards were again partly dealt after the semi-final fights. As we announced, the finals offered a duel of the trio Furkan Er, Mohamed Magdy and Abisai Peters, to which the Czech competitor Miroslav Juricek and the Italian fighter Andrea Mosti managed to stick. Many of us certainly pinned our hopes on the Turkish competitor Furkan Er, who before this competition was in second place in the rankings for the additional qualification for Mr. Olympia. He had to settle for second place in the end, but given that he will at least receive points for the intermediate qualification thanks to the race, it is quite likely that he will end up attending the prestigious event anyway. In the end, the winner was Dutch racer Abisai Pietersz, who before the Prague races was in a shared 41st place in the qualifying ranking with only 5 points. The Czech representative Miroslav Juricek had to settle for fourth place in this intense competition.

Men´s 212 Bodybuilding
At the very end there are two heavyweight categories - bodybuilding up to 212 pounds and Open category. As the time passes, it is noticeable that the time devoted to each category is getting a little longer, in the case of the 212, there was a rather long sit-down, which was a reward for the fans who were still in the Prague Hilton Hotel. In the case of this category, the judges did not have it easy, but in the end they decided to favour the Hungarian competitor. Despite the fact that Tomáš Tabačiar was quite sovereign in all the back poses, he had to settle for second place. The third place went to the Polish rider Dawid Cnota, who only got his pro card a month ago.

Men´s Open Bodybuilding
The most anticipated category of the whole evening ended as most people probably expected - with the victory of Michal Križánek, whom the other athletes were not too keen on in terms of volume. But if we should evaluate only the readiness, Michal did not show who knows how first-class form and both Honza Turek and Milan Šádek were definitely better. Some of the foreign commentators commented on Michal Križánek's form that if he shows such a form at the upcoming Olympia, which is full of big names, he will probably not end up in the top 10. However, Bela Kokeny also showed very good form and as far as the volume is concerned, the German rider Enrico Hoffman was also very good on the podium, but the judges awarded him only 6th place. One place ahead of him was Maik Ciesla and fourth place went to Milan Šádek, who also showed very good form.
