Champions Cup Poland | Did I bring better form? | SHOW DAY VLOG
Hi there, welcome to another video in my wellness diaries series where I document my journey in preparation for competitions in the wellness fitness category. This video belongs to the races in Poland, which after the first races of this season I was both looking forward to but also worried if I could do better than last time.
After Sweden I had a lot of doubts about myself because I was worried if my musculature would be enough for the next race. Honestly, the wellness fitness category is moving rapidly, and it left me with these feelings and self-doubt about whether I have what it takes and if I am even competitive. However, I tried to work on my mental setup especially, just before the race in Poland, even more intensively than before. The worst thing that can happen to a competitor is that his doubts overwhelm his healthy self-confidence and trust in himself. This is probably the hardest part of the sport, and the one that is less talked about because it is hard to expose this side of it.
To be more specific - being beaten in races by someone who is bigger or with better form is predictable and very common. But accepting the fact that you yourself know you have something to work on and, more importantly, need to grow into that category is hard when you're just starting the season. But bodybuilding is also a subjective sport and it also depends a lot on the coincidences and how the panel of judges at a given competition decides. One time they may like you more and the other time they may like you less. So it's good not to always expect the best possible placement, even if you've improved your form, gained muscle and improved your posing since the last competition, because there could always be someone who is simply better in the eyes of the judges.
In Sweden, my expectations were mainly of myself, and that was to do better than I did at EVLS in 2023, which I did. It's just that nobody does this sport to lose, we all want to win and so did I. And maybe the fact that I was thinking more about placing as well as possible was what kept me from enjoying the race more and pleasing the judges more. Nervousness does its thing and often comes when we least expect it. In Poland I wasn't so nervous, I enjoyed the race more, I was more aware of the present and that reflected a lot on my form and presentation.
And how did it turn out in terms of placing? You can find out in the new video. There will be one more video to follow this one, and it's from the Olympia Amateur in Alicante, so follow me so you don't miss it.
