Bodybuilder Shaun Clarida showed his progress in 16 years of training!
Author: Currently one of the best bodybuilders of today, Shaun Clarida, has not always been brimming with such volumes as today. Shaun was born on September 5, 1982 in New Jersey, USA and as a child he was already involved in basketball, wrestling, baseball and gymnastics. But as a child, this future professional bodybuilder was very small and skinny. He measured just 157.5cm and weighed only 44kg. This was the reason he was teased and bullied by his peers. Still, it didn't break Clarida and he continued to play the sport. In his junior year, he visited the gym for the first time and learned about hypertrophy training and how muscle recruitment works. This was his first incentive to exercise and his love for life.
Even though Clarida was ridiculed in his youth for his small and skinny appearance, he managed to work his way up to one of the world's best bodybuilders in 16 years. He earned his professional competitor card in 2012 at the National Bodybuilding Championships. And he competed in the Mr. Olympia competition for the first time the following year, where he placed 16th. However, he won his first Olympia medal in 2019, where he managed to win the third place and in 2020, he finally stood on the imaginary top of bodybuilding, when he managed to dominate this competition.

Even though Clarida had reached his imaginary peak, he thought he would move from the 212 lbs. category to the open category and try to succeed among the monsters. It happened for the first time at the Legion Sports Fest Pro 2021 and the impossible became a reality. Shaun became what is known as a "giant slayer" and came out victorious in Nevada. As a result, he was able to qualify for the Olympia and in the Open division and decided that he wanted to showcase his form in both the 212 lbs and up division. We don't know how the organizers will react to this request of Clarida, but it would be a very interesting show.
