Bodybuilder Quinton Eriya goes for the win at Toronto Pro 2021
Author: This weekend, Canada's biggest bodybuilding competition - the Toronto Pro 2021 - will take place after a year-long hiatus. Due to worldwide problems with the Covid-19 situation, Canada's biggest bodybuilding show has been cancelled. However, this year's event was saved and we can look forward to another batch of great performances!
One of the competitors who will be taking part in this competition is local racer Quinton Eriya. After 14 months he only showed up at the Romania Muscle Fest Pro, where he got a great fifth place and managed to beat our Milan Šádek, who finished sixth, by one place. The Canadian bodybuilder took a break from competing due to the gynecomastia surgery he underwent last year.
Another competition where Eriya should have shown up was the Bigman Weekend Pro 2021, which took place last weekend. But Quinton decided to stay in Canada and show up on his home stage. And he made it clear to everyone that he was going for the win!
"Yes, my goal is to win. Of course I have respect for all my competitors, I don't overlook anyone. But no matter what, I'm going to win, just like I went to Romania. It didn't happen, but I'm happy with where I placed. But I'm coming to Toronto with some improvements. We've improved the posing presentation. So it's definitely going to be great," said Quinton Eriya.
Eriya also shared why he didn't end up racing in Spain, but decided to show up in Toronto.
"Toronto is my hometown, so I don't have to travel 22 hours. After racing in Romania, I came back home and had five more days to prepare for Spain. However, my coaches and I agreed that I could spend the time I would have spent travelling to Europe again on training and capitalize on that at my home races. So my coaches and I felt it was the best decision for us," said Quinton Eriya.
We'll see on Sunday if this great Canadian can win the Toronto race and qualify for Mr. Olympia 2022.
