Bodybuilder Josh Crane drowns in rafting rescue

Josh Crane, an NPC bodybuilder and U.S. Navy veteran, was declared missing last Friday night after attempting to rescue two women. Crane's sister, Jessica Crane, said her 30-year-old brother jumped into rough waters to help the ladies in distress. Josh Crane did not make it out of the river after the rescue. Rescuers eventually found Joshua's body downstream in San Juan Rapids.

Joshua's sister revealed that Crane was studying to be a doctor and was due to graduate next spring. She also added that one of his only goals in life was to help people. Crane joined the military right out of high school to pursue his dream. During his time in the Navy, the bodybuilder got the opportunity to visit Japan and Camp Pendleton, the main U.S. Marine Corps base on the West Coast. After earning a degree in biology from Chico State University, Joshua committed himself to the study of medicine and pursued higher education at the prominent institution of UC Davis.

In addition to his service in the military, Joshua Crane was an active bodybuilder. He recently competed in the 2022 NPC Governor's Cup where he placed third.
