Bodybuilder and NPC-IFBB professional referee Jerry Ward has died at the age of 46

Jerry Ward, bodybuilder, trainer and IFBB professional referee, has died at the age of 47. The news of his passing was announced on Instagram by bodybuilding promoter Gary Udit. Ward was commentating live coverage for Udit's 2022 NPC Teen, Collegiate and Masters Nationals in Pittsburgh, during which he died suddenly overnight. Hours before his death, he posted a video to his YouTube channel.

Sadly, we lost a great friend today when Jerry Ward passed away. Jerry died suddenly last night. He was here in Pittsburgh commentating the live stream of the NPC Teen, Collegiate and Masters Nationals. In the NPC and IFBB PRO LEAGUE, Jerry was an outstanding competitor, judge, expediter, head judge and PPV commentator over the years.

His knowledge of the sport of bodybuilding was second to none!
We are devastated by his passing.

Jerry Ward's love of bodybuilding and fitness was unparalleled and was demonstrated on a daily basis. He began his professional career in 1994. In 2001, Jerry switched gears and began working as a fitness model. After achieving success, he decided to try his luck in the entertainment industry, participating in a number of acting gigs such as commercials and some television programs.

After his career as an active competitor, Ward began working as a skillful online bodybuilding commentator. His off-the-shoulder commentary, candid and blunt nature made him the perfect commentator and ambassador for the sport.
