Bigman Spain Pro 2023: Fantastic triumph of Roman Fritz | Overall results and report
In between a series of American competitions this week, Jim Manion's IFBB professional league moved back to Europe, at least for a while. In the past weeks we informed you first about the Chicago PRO and a week earlier also about the Vancouver PRO, while this time it was the turn of the Bigmain Spain Pro held in Benidorm, Spain, according to the official schedule.
Pre-Competition Predictions
Within the open category, three names in particular were mentioned most often. Probably the hottest candidate for the win could be German giant Roman Fritz, who is still waiting for his first professional victory and therefore for qualification for the Olympia. This season he almost succeeded at Mr. Big Evolution PRO, where he finished second behind Andrea Presti. If he shows at least similar, but ideally better, form, he could actually qualify for the Olympia. However, two athletes who finished just behind him at Mr. Big Evolution PRO will stand in his way. The gigantic Emir Omegaric and the well prepared Krystian Wolski. But besides them, there were 7 other athletes on the start list, including Marco Sarcone, who will be making his debut in the open category after winning silver in the 212lb category at the aforementioned Mr. Big Evolution PRO.

Course of the race
The original ten-strong starting field was eventually joined by the winner of the attached amateur race, Jonny McKean, and from the first semi-final call-up the racing took the direction predicted by the pre-race experts. The aforementioned first callout was in fact dominated by Roman Fritz, Kristyan Wolski, Emir Omegaric, the only twenty-one year old José Manuel Munoz Quiles and Pablo Llopis, the other Spanish rider who showed surprisingly good form and who should rightly have been among the top five. The most thrilling, however, was the mid-row fight, where the judges compared the again superbly prepared and gigantic Roman with the only twenty-four-year-old Emir Omegaric, who showed incredible hardness and brutal muscle separation. Therefore, the last invocation belonged to these two competitors and no one else was too keen on them, so there were no major surprises at the final announcement of the results.
Roman Fritz therefore came out on top, and interestingly, he will be the first German representative since the legendary Denis Wolf, who made his Olympia debut in 2015. Second place went to Omegaric, who is still waiting for his first professional win, but is best placed to see the Olympia boards one day. Third place was taken by the fantastic José Manuel Munoz Quiles, for whom this was only the second competition and who, at twenty-one, possesses absolutely incredible muscle maturity and volume. If his health doesn't betray him, he is in a great position to become a top bodybuilder. Fourth place was taken by the great Pablo Llopis, for whom it was the best finish of his career so far, and the top five was rounded off by Kristyan Wolski, who came into the competition rather underdone and out of shape.

That's all from us for these races, but don't despair, there's a Tampa Pro next week that we'll keep you posted on as well.
