Milk thistle (Silybum marianum L.) is an annual plant that grows mainly in Africa, in the area of the Nile River. In Africa, this plant with its prickly leaves is very popular and is used both for medicinal purposes and for its high oil content, which is pressed from the seeds.

However, milk thistle also contains the substance silymarin, which has beneficial effects on the liver. This active substance is able to bind to the membranes of the liver cells and thus helps the normal functioning of the liver, its cleansing, improving choleresis and thus the work of the gallbladder.

Wolfberry milk thistle oil is extracted cold from the seeds of the plant, which contain up to 22% of this valuable substance. The oil contains 46-65% linoleic acid, 15-25% oleic acid and 7-12% palmitic acid. It also contains chlorophyll, carotenoids, tocopherols, vitamin E, phospholipids and the aforementioned silymarin.

Use: The oil is suitable for cold cooking in salads and dressings, but can also be used on its own to strengthen the liver.
