Product description Wolfberry BIO popcorn corn
Popcorn corn is a special type of this very important agricultural crop with a hard husk that, when heated, creates pressure in the centre of the kernel, which breaks the corn and allows the inner part of the kernel, which contains starches and proteins, to escape.
After rice and wheat, maize is the most widely grown crop in the world. Because it does not contain gluten, which is a mixture of two proteins, it does not cause the allergy we may know as celiac disease. Popcorn itself is a food that is relatively low in energy, but it needs to be prepared without fat. If you want to make it in oil, choose a good quality one that doesn't burn. Coconut oil is ideal for this.
Popcorn is not a product of modern civilisation, as the first records of its consumption and production date back several thousand years to the American Indians. It became very popular in America during the Industrial Revolution and from there it spread all over the world. Americans consider popcorn to be almost a national food and prepare it in many different ways, no exception being covered in melted butter.
Wolfberry corn for popcorn passes strict scrutiny. After it is harvested, it is stored in bins for about 10 months where it is very slowly dried to the ideal moisture content inside the corn kernel, which should be between 13 and 15 percent. This gives our customers the highest quality popcorn corn and the increase in volume is remarkable.
Preparing popcorn in the pot
- Pour the corn into a pot with heated oil so that the corn only covers the bottom. Cover with a lid. When the popping intervals are longer than 5 seconds, turn off the cooker. The corn can be sprinkled with salt or seasoned with a teaspoon of butter for flavour.
Preparation in the microwave
- Put the corn in a bowl or paper bag. Lightly cover the bowl with a lid and place in the microwave on the highest setting for about 3 to 4 minutes. When the intervals between popping the corn are longer than 5 seconds, turn the oven off. Caution: the bowl is hot when the popcorn is removed from the microwave! You can sprinkle the corn with salt or season with a teaspoon of butter for flavour.
