Riboflavin (vitamin B2) is an important substance that contributes to normal energy metabolism. It has antioxidant activity in the body. It contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system and to the reduction of fatigue and exhaustion. It is involved in the metabolism of iron in the blood and helps to maintain normal red blood cells. It has an effect on the quality of skin and eyesight.

Riboflavin belongs to the group of B vitamins that are water-soluble and do not accumulate in the body, so it is desirable to constantly supplement it. Women on contraceptives, adolescents, the elderly and people with a reduced intake of dairy products have an increased need.

Riboflavin deficiency is manifested mainly by inflammatory changes in the skin (dermatitis) and mucous membranes.
