10 tips for a successful cleansing treatment

Drink plenty of water - preferably lukewarm water with lemon. Lukewarm water can improve digestion and lemon contributes to an alkaline pH.(Note: Do not consume lukewarm water straight from the tap, but boil it and let it cool)

2. Increase your intake of berries, fruits and vegetables - it is important to eat a varied diet during the diet to get enough micronutrients. A vegetarian, easily digestible diet is recommended. Berries and green vegetables are particularly nutritious and provide you with vitamins and antioxidants. Increase your intake of alkaline-forming foods that optimize your body's pH.Many people overacidify the body with food, which increases the risk of certain diseases, among other things. By eating alkaline (basic) foods, you are helping the body to better acid-base balance. Examples of basic foods are green produce such as kale and wheatgrass, root vegetables, legumes, seeds, citrus fruits, and red tea.

4. Avoid refined sugar and artificial sweeteners - refined sugar can promote chronic inflammation and should be avoided during the cure. Also, artificial sweeteners such as sucralose or aspartame are not suitable as it is still unclear how they affect the gut flora.

5. Avoid caffeine, alcohol and tobacco - a cleanse is a good opportunity to reduce addictive substances that can disrupt the gut system.

6. Eat enough fibre - many people eat a diet too low in fibre, which affects how well the gut system functions, among other things. Aim to take in 30g of fibre a day.

7. Eat mainly unprocessed foods without additives and stabilisers, and prepare each dish sparingly to maintain maximum nutritional value - food that is cooked or fried for too long loses many important bioactive components. Handle ingredients carefully to get the most nutrients.

8. Exercise regularly - exercise stimulates the intestinal system and increases blood flow. In addition, you will sweat out water-soluble toxins.
