Astaxanthin is a natural carotenoid, often referred to as the "red gold of the sea" due to its extremely strong ability to bind free radicals. Unlike some other substances with similar activity, it does not turn into a pro-oxidant on contact with air and remains stable even when exposed to oxidizing conditions.

It is one of the few substances that can penetrate the protective filter between the bloodstream and the brain. Astaxanthin from red algae

Astaxanthin is derived from the best natural source in the world - a special type of seaweed that secretes the red pigment, astaxanthin, when stressed.
