Product description GreenFood TribuMaca + Piperine
GreenFood Nutrition Tribulus + Maca
The combination of Tribulus terrestris and Peruvian maca builds on a long tradition of using these plants in natural nutrition. They come from different corners of the world and are traditionally associated with vitality and the body’s resilience¹—which is one reason why they still hold a place in plant-based diets today.
Tribulus Terrestris
Tribulus terrestris is a low-growing herb with small yellow flowers that grows in the warmer regions of Asia, Europe, and Africa.
It has been a part of traditional nutrition for centuries. It is valued for its natural content of saponins—plant compounds commonly found in the seeds and leaves of this plant.
Seed extract—naturally higher protodioscin content
Tribulus can be processed from various parts of the plant. The seed is often cited in scientific sources as the part with a higher concentration of furostanol saponins, making it naturally more suitable for obtaining a high-quality extract than the leaves or stems.
Protodioscin—the saponin most frequently mentioned in scientific sources in connection with Tribulus—is found in the highest concentrations in the seeds, which gives the seed extract a richer and more valuable profile than extracts from other parts of the plant.
Maca
Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a hardy plant that grows at altitudes of over 4,000 meters above sea level in the Peruvian Andes. In these extreme conditions—with intense sunlight, strong winds, and cold nights—it has developed an exceptionally rich content of plant compounds. It has been used in traditional diets for centuries and is associated with vitality, sexuality, and physical and mental resilience.
Maca root is naturally rich in B vitamins, minerals (calcium, iron, zinc), and amino acids. It also contains plant sterols, alkaloids, and glucosinolates—natural compounds that together form a broad spectrum of nutrients and contribute to the nutritional value of the entire plant.
Piperine – Black Pepper Extract
Piperine comes from the fruits of black pepper (Piper nigrum) and is known as the natural compound that gives pepper its characteristic spicy flavor. It is used in dietary supplements for its ability to improve the absorption of plant compounds.¹ This extract is standardized to 95% piperine and is derived from carefully selected black pepper berries.
