Pure marine collagen is made from wild cod and is hydrolysed into small collagen peptides. These have a molecular weight of only 3 kDA (kilodaltons), so they are optimally absorbed and used by the body. In addition, marine collagen is absorbed by the body up to 1.5 times more efficiently than collagen from mammals. The collagen peptides are extracted by gentle enzymatic hydrolysis.
