The flakes have a delicate buckwheat taste and aroma. Just have buckwheat flakes in a bowl with fruit and plant milk. They are great as a base for meatballs and vegetable pancakes.

Buckwheat flakes are made by steaming and crushing buckwheat groats. Due to the fact that they have been heat treated, they need little or no treatment compared to raw grain.

In Europe, buckwheat has been known since the 12th century, when it came to us from Russia, where it arrived from South-East Asia. Over the centuries it was one of the most commonly eaten foods before giving way to wheat, rye and rice in the 18th century. Botanically, it is not a grass but is related to crops such as rhubarb and sorrel. Buckwheat is a naturally gluten-free crop.

Storage: at temperatures up to 20 °C and relative humidity up to 65 %. Do not expose to direct sunlight.
