Para nuts get their name from the port of Pará in Brazil, from where they were exported to Europe. They grow on a tree called the juvie. It is only a wild tree as it has not been domesticated. Its fruits are the capsules. Native foragers collect them and extract up to 22 seeds per capsule. Apart from food, the fruit is sometimes used to fatten carp.

Organic food always undergoes a system of inspection and certification to ensure its quality and enable it to carry the label. Their organic quality is particularly appreciated by people interested in organic farming and sustainable farming systems.

Storage: Store at a temperature of up to 20 °C and a relative humidity of up to 70 %.
